Theory in Practice

Theories remain just words on paper until they are applied. When we apply theoretical concepts, we always need to adapt them to reality. We call this process – Theory in Practice.

The fusion between theory and practice constitutes the foundation of our business practice. It is in this context that LOOOP can help you grow and develop your organization. We do this by using and adapting concepts such as:

  • The potential and impact of identifying and transforming organizational gaps and stalemates (defined in Swedish as the Mellanrum)
  • Organizational behavior, learning and development theories
  • Individual learning processes

Our starting point is the framework that guides your managers and your company, as well as the theories you have chosen to incorporate in your work. Together, we develop a working group that has the ability to harness the potential of the Mellanrum. We help you make strides towards the next phase in your strategy, bringing you closer to your goals and vision.

We help you implement your strategy and transform words into action.

So what are the organizational gaps and stalemates that comprise the Mellanrum? The gaps and stalemates occur on the borders between people, functions and organizations, usually where the responsibility of one entity ends but another has yet to begin. They manifest themselves as lost opportunities or the proverbial problem of issues “falling through the cracks”. The Mellanrum is especially prone to exist in large, merged or complex structures such as corporations and bureaucracies. However, by detecting and addressing these gaps and stalemates, we find opportunities for innovation, problem-solving and increased efficiency.

LOOOP applies the concept of the Mellanrum to help organizations identify high impact changes and convene the right people to address the issues at hand. At its core, the Mellanrum provides a space for reflection, action, and organizational development. Merely being aware of its existence reduces risk within companies and complex projects. Understanding the potential impact of the Mellanrum paves the way for sustainable and cost-effective development of people and organizations.

LOOOP continuously develops your leadership and management skills throughout the course of our collaboration. We uncover, utilize and transform your organizational gaps and stalemates in order to create new opportunities and avoid pitfalls.

We determine what is required of your leaders to reach your organization’s full potential both today and in the future. Innovation for the next generation begins today.

Collaborate with LOOOP

We tailor our methods to meet your organization’s needs and goals. By utilizing a three-stage process we achieve lasting change and results:

1

Developing a Working Relationship

In one or more introductory meetings, we develop an understanding of your organization’s context and challenges. Together we will build a vision and establish a framework, which will serve as a starting point for our collaboration and your development. Subsequently, we agree upon team structure and specific personnel, which will form the hub of the development process. Our starting point will always be based on your capacity to manage your own change process, and we continually assess the need for further resources. Because we believe that development is a continuous learning process at its core, we will evaluate our relationship recurrently. We will learn from our joint successes and setbacks before embarking upon the next phase.

2

Development

During this part of the process, we design and establish a detailed plan. To ensure that we are reaching the desired results, we develop a shared framework with clear evaluation criteria to assess progress throughout the project. Jointly, we implement the solutions that create everyday change on both an individual and organizational level.

3

Evaluation and Follow-up

In a process of ongoing evaluation, we assess progress towards our goals and criteria. As and when necessary, we make adjustments and “looop” between our developmental stages and/or refine our methods.

We prioritize the transfer of long-lasting competencies to our clients, so that they can independently act upon their new insights. Our role is to facilitate the development process and we prefer a long-term relationship in which we return recurrently to provide support throughout the process.

After the project is concluded you should see lasting results in your organization.
